About the Role
Original Software markets its Application Quality Management and Test Automation solutions around the world with primary markets in North America and Western Europe.
We wish to appoint our first dedicated Account Development Director to help us expand our footprint in some of the major companies we count among our customers.
This is a hybrid role as while there are sales elements, our customers also view us as trusted advisors and subject matter experts. We approach business acquisition as a project that must be executed with objectives, agreed timelines and identified responsibilities. We target market segments who are experiencing quantifiable pain such as major application upgrades of SAP or Oracle applications.
If you enjoy helping companies solve key business challenges and can effectively communicate at all levels, ideally based on experience with major applications such as SAP, Oracle EBS or Salesforce, this role will fit you well.

Ability to engage with existing contacts within our customers to generate internal references
Ability to map a target organisation and identify the potential opportunities
Ability to use search tools, LinkedIn etc to identify target contacts
Compose credible outline value propositions to target contacts, backed by the internal references and engage with them
Ability to explain our success story and illustrate its relevance to the target contact
Ability at all stages to help the prospect build their business case
Understanding that product features can help support the business case and build enthusiasm while knowing that the business case is paramount
Ability to involve other players as needed
Ability to create compelling business proposals and present to senior level
Persistence, passion and drive
Excellent communication skills
Creative and intelligent supported by degree level education
Knowledge of major applications, especially ERP systems
Minimum of 2 years account development experience
Live within commutable distance of our Westmont, IL location
Reporting to the Head of Sales and Operations, this position is based at our offices in Westmont, Illinois (Western Chicago suburbs) Travel throughout North America will be required.

Business Development Executive
Original Software is looking to expand its Business Development Team to assist in our continued success. You will have a track record ideally in software but certainly within IT and with the ability to manage multiple accounts and developing new business. Either way you will have a mind for learning new technologies so that you can appropriately communicate to executive and C-level professionals in both IT and Business. What’s in it for you? - Generate senior executive level prospect contacts using the names and contact details of people within target companies.
- Use your own initiative to create quality leads within the target markets the company serves.
- Identify the customer’s issues/needs and discuss the benefits of an appropriate solution.
- Integrate with our consultants to progress.
- Research and build new and existing accounts using tools available e.g. CRM, website tracking, social media.
- Evangelize a technology that far surpasses its predecessors through innovation
- Achieve uncapped quarterly quotas
There will also be opportunities to attend some industry specific events.
- Experience of sales, marketing, QA or business analyst (software sales is a plus)
- 6 Months of prospecting experience
- Must be relational and always interested in engaging new people
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree CRM experience
- Inside sales experience Enterprise level prospecting experience
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills Motivation, drive and a self-starting attitude
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to understand needs to connect to solutions
- Good time management with strong organizational skills
Reporting to the Marketing Manager this role is based in our Westmont (Greater Chicago), Illinois.
