Greg Sengpiel
General Manager, Americas
Greg Sengpiel serves as General Manager for the Americas for Original Software.
Recognised as a market leader in automated software testing, the Chicago, Illonois based company is capturing significant new clients with the TestBench solution.
Greg spearheads the company's continued expansion in the North American market. He manages a team of industry certified professionals who provide sales, marketing, technical support and customer care. Original Software's customer base includes large enterprise and mid-market clients within the financial services, insurance, healthcare and retail, distribution and logistics industries.
"The growth of complex web and internet applications is driving a need for reliable software testing solutions that accelerate application delivery time-to-market", states Sengpiel. "Compliance regulations, especially in the U.S., combine to create project bottlenecks for IT departments. The need to improve collaboration within the application development life cycle is paramount to an enterprise organisation's success," he said.
Sengpiel joined Original Software in early 2006. His career includes holding senior management and executive sales positions with companies such as CompuCom Systems Inc., SunGard Data Systems and Hitachi Computer Products. Sengpiel's expertise in networking systems, business continuity and technology services culminates in risk management for IT. He brings over twenty years of sales and marketing experience in the information technology industry.
Greg is a graduate from the University of Arizona, Tucson and resides in the Chicago area with his wife and children.
An interview with Greg
Q - What is the best business lesson you've learnt and how did you learn it?
A - That change in business is constant, and one must learn to accept, embrace and implement behaviour to succeed with change. I have experienced several career stops in which my employer was acquired, did acquire or merged with other organisations.
Q - Who do you most admire and why?
A - My wife, she has tremendous focus and discipline that I only wish I possessed 50% of her capacity.
Q - What do you like to do in your spare time?
A - I like to work on my computer, read biographies, play golf and teach my children.
Q - I couldn't live without?
A - The love and support of my family.
Q - Cheese and wine or a pint and crisps?
A - Wine and cheese, of course.
Q - What was your first ever job?
A - Hotel front desk clerk, Drake Hotel Chicago.
Q - Your favourite movie and why?
A - The Godfather Part II. Michael Corleone rises to power and deals with family and business issues.
Q - Which is more you - a city apartment or place in the country?
A - I am definitely a city apartment guy.
Q - What makes you feel glad to be alive every day?
A - My wife and children.
Q - If you weren't working at Original Software, what would you be doing?
A - Acting in Hollywood or Broadway.

A - TV Sportscaster.
