Advanced Testing - with Ease of Use

TestDrive-Green is the client module for testing legacy ‘green-screen’ applications. Because these modules form part of a family, TestDrive-Green and its 'sister' module TestDrive-Gold have been designed with the same, easy-to-use interface that avoids the need to spend time learning a scripting language.

The top-level controls are based on a simple one-click interface for recording and playing back, making it accessible to even the least technical of users. However beneath this lies a powerful level of script controlling that also meets the needs of the most technically advanced users.

TestDrive-Green Highlights

• Easily create test scenarios through a simple point and click interface.
• Execute a complete regression test in hours not days, complete with full results, automatic data rules, and baseline result comparisons for analysis. The data will also reset ready for the next execution.
• Free of any coding language: there is no complex scripting language to learn. Scripting is a simple, one click operation. During playback, each screen is checked to confirm the actual against expected results, with the errors highlighted in an intuitive red/amber/green ‘traffic signal’ system.
• Self Healing Scripts - run your existing scripts over revised or updated versions of your application without hours of re-scripting.
• Complex decision-linked tests can be built that integrate with the server functions on the iSeries to give a complete approach to testing. At the same time, TestBench will manage the test environment and enable data re-set on demand.
• Variable Data, which ensures different data is presented for each test run, enables one script to simulate multiple business transactions, providing significant time saving.
• Tracked Fields takes the Variable Data concept to the next level, enabling data created during the running of an application (e.g. purchase order numbers) to be captured and used throughout playback.
• Action Maps enable individual scripts to be linked into a sequence in order to recreate an entire business process. These sequences can be changed according to the Variable Data being used which means that with just one script, you can look through, and test, a whole range of possible scenarios and outcomes.
• Playback of scripts can be scheduled for anytime, day or night, and they run in the background, so the PC is not ‘locked up’ during script re-runs.
